Who We Are
LEAP is a network of organizations from various sectors across our community, including the Hillsborough Country K-12 school system, institutions of higher education, businesses, philanthropic and civic organizations, and the City of Tampa, including the Mayor’s office.
We are committed to working together to increase college access and attainment of post-secondary degrees and certificates-thereby creating a well-prepared workforce, thriving economy, and flourishing coumminity.
What We Do
Through a collective impact approach, LEAP seeks to increase student success with high yielding results that achieve large-scale social impact.
Five conditions contribute to the success of collective impact:
● Common Agenda
All participants have a shared vision for change, including a common understanding of the problem and a joint approach to solving it through agreed-upon actions.
● Shared Measurement
Collecting data and measuring results consistently across all participants ensures efforts remain aligned and participants hold each other accountable.
● Mutually Reinforcing Activities
Each participant’s unique activities should be coordinated through a mutually reinforcing plan of action.
● Continuous Communication
Consistent and open communication among participants builds trust, assures mutual objectives, and creates common motivation.
● Backbone Support
A separate organization with staff and a specific set of skills should serve as the backbone for the entire initiative and coordinate participating organizations and agencies.
